Dicy takes privacy very seriously. We do not sell, access, or track any of your personal data. The only data we have access to is the analytics data we collect through PostHog, which is basic and non-intrusive as mentioned below. We do not have access to any of your grades, classes, or any other personal information.
Note: while most Dicy features keep data local and read-only, certain optional features (for example, the "Responsive Schedule for Infinite Campus" tool) may transmit updates back to your school account if you explicitly choose to apply them. We will always prompt you for confirmation before sending any changes. If you prefer Dicy to remain read-only, avoid applying schedule updates from these features.
We use PostHog for basic, non-intrusive, anonymous informational analytics (notice how we don't use Google Analytics, which collects a lot of data), to count things like app launches, most commonly used features, and see things like how many users are using Dicy web vs mobile. We do not track, collect, or store any of your personal data at all such as name, grades, classes, etc. All of that data is local to your device.
Dicy does not store any data, and Dicy has no intentions of getting access to any user-sensitive data such as grades. Dicy also stores authentication tokens locally on your device and encrypts them, which means no one except you can access them. The only time data leaves your device is when you sign in to Dicy web for Infinite Campus to share your code, and even then, it is fully encrypted and data either expires and gets auto-deleted after 15 minutes or is deleted as soon as you enter your pair code into Dicy Web.
If you have any privacy questions or concerns, feel free to email privacy@dicy.app.
